valerie taylor trust

The Valerie Taylor Trust is the UK charity which supports the work of The Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralysed (CRP) Dhaka, Bangladesh.
This hospital was founded by British physiotherapist Valerie Taylor OBE over 30 years ago. Valerie worked as a VSO (voluntary service overseas) in East Pakistan /Bangladesh. She had a deep concern for spinal injury patients for whom such an injury was a certain death sentence. She began with 4 spinal injury patients in an old cement warehouse and this has grown to a 100 bed hospital with full rehabilitation facilities and with clinics in other areas of the country. CRP has also more recently established a 13 storey private facility in Dhaka which helps to fund the poor patients in the main hospital.
Folk from St John’s Renfield Church have been extremely supportive of this remarkable hospital and charity.
The Valerie Taylor Trust has a scheme whereby you can give a worthwhile gift which benefits greatly a patient in Bangladesh. The scheme The Essential Gift Scheme is administered by Elizabeth Arthur.
